Sources and Provenance

Version 0.1 is grounded in a downloaded English-language Civilization VI: Gathering Storm Civilopedia corpus containing 1,942 Markdown pages. Of those, 1,923 retain an original Civilopedia URL; the remaining 19 are local navigation indexes.

The source mirror stays outside this repository and is treated as read-only. A private deterministic manifest records each source’s stable ID, relative path, title, URL, SHA-256 hash, word count, and image-reference count. A separate coverage ledger assigns every source one editorial disposition, proving that unpublishing a page is a decision rather than an omission.

Public mechanic dossiers retain source IDs and original URLs, but paraphrase rules in original language. The site does not copy source prose, historical-context sections, quotations, or game assets. Civilopedia is evidence for what the game models—not evidence for the history it depicts.

Edition identity is explicit: game: civ6 and ruleset: gathering-storm. A future Civilization VII corpus will receive a distinct manifest and version identity rather than silently rewriting these pages.
